Useful Links and Websites

Links and Websites that I think are very useful if you are into Astrophotography or are looking to stay within Aberdeenshire to maybe capture the stars whilst on holiday

Spaceweather.com

Spaceweather.com is a website dedicated to daily news, data, and imagery regarding the Sun-Earth environment. It provides real-time updates on solar flares, coronal mass ejections, auroras, and potentially hazardous asteroids. The site serves as a resource for monitoring how solar activity impacts Earth's magnetic field and technology.

It is very useful for details about recent Aurora alerts and Solar activity.

VisitAberdeenshire

VisitAberdeenshire is the official tourism organization for Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, Scotland, aiming to grow the region's visitor economy by promoting its castles, coastline, and city culture. As a not-for-profit, they drive demand through marketing campaigns while supporting local businesses with industry insights, digital, and content support.

I have worked alongside VisitAberdeenshire with their NorthernNights campaign which has lots of contacts if you are looking to stay within the area (like a Log cabin or hotel) or looking for something to do or see.

Nasa

The NASA website is the official portal for the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration, providing real-time updates on space missions, astronomical discoveries, climate data, and aeronautics research. It serves as a, interactive hub for public information, featuring imagery, educational resources for students and teachers, and news about exploration of the Moon, Mars, and beyond.
